Silvered antoninianus of Emperor Gallienus struck at Rome (c. 260–268 CE).
Obverse: radiate, cuirassed bust of Gallienus right with legend IMP GALLIENVS AVG.
Reverse: Mars standing right, holding spear and shield, with legend MARTI PROPVGN.
Rare find for its preserved layer of silver: antoniniani were heavily debased by the time of Gallienus.
